Candy Stations, Smaller Cakes and All Things Sweet!

I am definitely seeing options for desserts for my clients to add that sweet touch to their parties.  Some of my brides for example, are looking at ways to keep the tradition of the wedding cake, with optional sweets for their guests.  I have many brides who are doing smaller wedding cakes just for the photo opportunity.  Here are some ideas that I believe add a renewed life to sweets!

I have had several of my brides, in particular, who want to do candy stations for their weddings.  Guests love them.  A candy station can work as a sweet ending to your party and as a favor.  There are options in the look of the candy station, the content, the color as well as the actual container for your guests to take!  Here are some ideas.  A little over a year ago, one of my brides had the biggest sweet tooth!  For her wedding reception, we had a candy station, a full wedding cake, churros with 3 different dipping sauces, gold glazed strawberries, mini milkshakes and donuts, AND a cotton candy station.

Did you know that you can also use cotton candy as a really fun option on top of a martini?

Candy stations are so much fun.  I love all the color options.  We buy much of the candy for our candy stations from Candy Warehouse. And, you can get jars very easily at places like Cost Plus World Market, Pottery Barn, Etsy and many other places.  A quick search online can be very productive and a good use of your limited time!

Look how cute these are!

The cookies do not have to be already selected .  A fun idea would be to take the traditional candy station and make it a cookie station.  The cookies could be the very popular macaroons, or they could be airbrushed with a caricature photo of the two of you!  Here is a photo of a very pretty dessert station with several options for the guests.
