Simple Ways to Dress up your Wedding Without going broke

Author Renee Krejci

I get a lot of brides ask me how they can dress up their wedding décor without going broke or having to spend a lot of money. They want to make an impact in simple ways. I love helping brides come up with such solutions. Below is just a few of what we came up with.

All pictures below are from weddings I have personally coordinated and designed. I’m happy to share them with you. Pin if you’d like.

1. DIY Paper Flowers on wall and Drapery

Here the bride made paper flowers with tissue paper. We put small cardboard backings on them and stuck them to the wall. The wall itself was nice, but it had a basketball hoop on it. We added drapery in the middle to cover it. We didn’t want to cover the whole wall, just the basketball hoop. Drapery can be inexpensive if you get the right fabric.

2. Candles

For this ceremony we dressed up the church with candles. The bride didn’t want to add more flowers. It was an evening ceremony so candles really made this awesome. We had candles of varying sizes.

The bride and groom wanted to dress up the tent a little but didn’t want tulle. They didn’t want to buy any more lights. So, they came up with banners to hang across the tent with varying colors. We strung them on ribbon and hung them every 10 feet. It really added to the whole look of the inside of the tent. It added great color to an all white tent.

4. Floating Candles in Cylinder Vases

The bride did not have a big budget for centerpieces. She wanted something elegant but not expensive. We came up with 3 cylinder vases in 3 different heights, a floating candle in each, and then in between each vase touching we placed a dried orchid. It added a touch of color and looked elegant like we wanted.
